DME Unlock (Up to 06/2020 Production Date)

DME Unlock of MEVD17.x.x and MG1 series computers enables tuning from such platforms as Bootmod3 (www.Bootmod3.com), and MHD (https://mhdtuning.com) over the OBD Port.

Two reasons. You have a late model BMW (DME's Produced 06/2020 or earlier), or your earlier model BMW has been locked by the dealership.  We’ve got the answer, either way.

BMW’s Factory Diagnostic Software (BMW ISTA+) recommends to the technicians that the software of the vehicle be brought up-to-date with the most recent version of software available from BMW, before any sort of diagnostics or service are conducted.  Moreover, the BMW Technician is actually paid by BMW to perform this update, at no cost to you.

By all means, this sounds like great customer service! However, it is actually quite the contrary when you want to tune.  The software updates in modules often offer no change in operation and are conducted only to make vehicle tuning a bit more difficult.

Although this may be true, Tuning Dynamics has the tools and connections required to fix this problem.

All vehicles with a production date before 06/2020 can have their DME’s unlocked very quickly, and very easily.

Simply bring the entire vehicle, or the computer alone, to our facility in Port Richey, FL (Appointment Only!).  After that, we will perform the unlock service and the computer will be available for OBD Programming from your tuner of choice. Simple and easy.

After purchasing, you will receive instructions on where to send your DME into for service. Once received, the DME will be bench unlocked and re-shipped within one business day. EPC will cover the cost of return shipping and it will be sent out with overnight shipping. Please note, Tuning Dynamics is not responsible for DMEs that are received dead on arrival or damaged in shipping. The customer is responsible for shipping to Tuning Dynamics. Additionally, please keep in mind that if a dealer does a software update to the car, it's possible for them to re-lock the DME (both in-person and remotely), which would require the DME to need to be unlocked again. This service is for 1 bench unlock. If a dealer re-locks the DME, an additional DME unlock service would need to be purchased. Furthermore, this cost does NOT include labor for Tuning Dynamics to remove or reinstall a DME, this service can only be done at our location.
